KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 — Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra of Kelantan has filed suit in the High Court here against his estranged wife Manohara Odelia Pinot and her mother Daisy Fajarina for alleged defamation.

He is claiming RM105 million in damages.

Manohara, 17, said to be a former Indonesian teen model, fled from her husband when the family was in Singapore in May.

She subsequently accused Tengku Muhammad Fakhry of sexual and physical abuse when she returned to Jakarta.

Her accusations have contributed to strained ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

On July 5, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry also filed separate summonses against Manohara at the Syariah High Court in Kelantan, demanding the return of nearly RM1 million in alleged loans.

The Kelantan prince claims Manohara and Daisy had borrowed RM972,750 from him.

He also filed a summons in the Syariah Court for Manohara to be loyal to him.

In the affidavit filed today, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry said Manohara had tarnished his name and that of the Kelantan palace.
