PETALING JAYA, Jan 6 — Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir is demanding that four parties linked to PKR issue an apology for a story that appeared in the party newspaper Suara Keadilan recently.
If they do not apologise, he will then sue the respective parties for RM100 million each.
According to sources, letters of demand will be sent out today to the PKR president, the publisher of Suara Keadilan, the company which prints Suara Keadilan and the newspaper's editor requesting that an apology be published in media of Zambry's choice within seven days.
Suara Keadilan had allegedly published a story saying that Zambry (picture) was recently denied entry to the US as he was "suspected of being a terrorist".
A source familiar with the official trip made by Zambry to the US denied the allegations and called it "an obscene lie".
"This time Zambry is taking a strong stand (against Suara Keadilan)," said the source.
Zambry had earlier mulled filing an RM100 million lawsuit against just Suara Keadilan for its allegations, saying that the newspaper "committed a big lie."
“Initially, I wanted to sue the newspaper for RM1 or five sen, but considering that the party leader (of PKR) loves to sue people for RM100 million, so why shouldn’t I sue them for RM100 million too," he said.
